Canty: It was all or nothing

Cork's Graham Canty is pleased to be in with a second chance to defeat Kerry in Croke Park for the first time in his county's history after Sunday's thrilling semi-final draw with the Champions. The Bantry Blues clubman, who had started at centre-field after not being named in the starting 15 earlier in the week through injury, barged into the Kerry square as his side trailed by three points in injury time and clattered with Aidan O'Mahony to win a penalty which John Hayes coolly converted to draw the game. "It was all or nothing at that stage," Canty said after the game. "We were a goal down and we needed another. I just forced my way through and thankfully won the penalty. "I knew very little about it as I was upended and winded, but credit to John, he converted the penalty and we now have another chance to complete the job next week." The All Star defender admitted that after Darragh Ó Sé's sending-off early in the second-half, Kerry drove forward and got the scores that looked to have won them the game. Canty said: "They drove on and added on a couple of more points. "It wasn't looking good for us but we stuck to our game plan as best we could and thankfully it came right for us in the end."
