Derry footballer signs for New York Giants

Former Derry underage star Jude McAtamney has joined the New York Giants as an UDFA (Undrafted Free Agent).
The 2018 Ulster U20FC winner has been based in the US for the past few years where he has been pursuing a career as a kicker in American football. He played with Rutgers University in New Jersey before signing for the Giants yesterday.
The Swatragh man joins Charlie Smyth in the NFL after the Down goalkeeper recently signed for the New Orleans Saints. Monaghan goalkeeper Rory Beggan and Wicklow netminder Mark Jackson could also be snapped up after recently coming through the NFL’s International Player Pathway alongside Smyth.
