Kerry and Tipperary overcame Cork and Clare in Phase 2 Round 2 of the Munster U20FC last night.

Cormac Dillon scored 1-5 for Tomás Ó Sé’s men in a 1-12 to 0-11 victory over Cork at Páirc Uí Chaoimh. In what is a likely Munster final dress rehearsal, the hosts led by 0-6 to 0-3 at the end of the opening quarter before Luke Crowley set up Dillon for a 29th minute goal to leave Kerry 1-6 to 0-6 in front at the break.

Points from Hugh O'Connor and Luke O'Herlihy reduced the deficit to the minimum after the restart, but the Kingdom registered the next four scores into the wind to pull away again.

Tipperary finished with a flourish at Ardfinnan to defeat Clare 1-10 to 0-7.

The sides were level four times before Michael Freaney's 27th minute goal helped the winners to a 1-5 to 0-5 interval lead. It remained in the melting pot until late points from substitutes Paddy O'Keeffe and Daithí Hogan made victory safe for Tipp.
