Declan Hannon admits Darragh O'Donovan's injury is a big blow to Limerick's Munster SHC hopes.

The All-Star midfielder suffered a calf injury in training last month which will rule him out of the Treaty County's first two Munster SHC games against Clare and Tipperary.

"We have been fairly unlucky the last number of years picking up injuries and now Darragh O'Donovan is gone as well, which is a huge shame," the All-Ireland winning captain told reporters at yesterday's launch of eir’s sponsorship of the 2024 All-Ireland SHC.

"I think he is a highly underrated player and he will try his level best to get back for the latter stages of the championship. We just have to perform as best we can now with the players in the squad that are fit and ready to go."
