Leitrim manager Terry Hyland admits that this weekend’s break allows them time to regroup.

The Connacht side have one point from their opening three games in the FL1 campaign and are currently sitting in one of the relegation places.

To be fair, they have produced some decent performances in their opening three games, but Hyland knows better than anyone that they need to start putting points on the board.

“It gives us a chance to get Mark Plunkett back,” Hyland told the Leitrim Observer. “It gives us a chance to get Ryan (O’Rourke) up to speed, it gives Ray Mulvey a chance to get up to speed.

“Ray Mulvey, probably two weeks ago hadn’t touched a ball, Ryan up to ten days ago hadn’t touched a ball. You can get them back fitness wise but these lads still have to get up to the speed of the ball. These few weeks will give us that.

“It gives us that opportunity to get a bit more into their legs but also to get a bit more of that practice of shooting and scoring but we will work on that.”
