"They have to be stopped"

Karl Lacey believes there are three or four teams capable of derailing Dublin’s drive for five.

The all-conquering Dubs are odd-on favourites to capture their fifth successive All-Ireland SFC title in 2019 but Donegal legend Lacey – a member of Declan Bonner’s backroom team – says Jim Gavin’s charges are not invincible:

“They have to be stopped, so they do. I believe there are three or four teams that can do that,” Lacey told The Irish Daily Mirror.

“We're just going to get our house in order. The best way for us to stop them is to win an Ulster championship, go in the front door to the Super 8s that way and see where that takes us then.

“They're still the best team in the country, without a doubt. But it is hard to know where they are at, this time of the year. It's hard to analyse. They won’t know where they are at until July and August and hopefully, we'll be there.

“That’s our aim. Winning Ulster and get into the Super 8s and then start looking at them.”
