Harnedy and Delaney in the clear

April 12, 2019

Cork's Seamus Harnedy and Conor Delaney of Kilkenny.

Cork captain Seamus Harnedy and Kilkenny's Conor Delaney are free to play in their county's respective championship openers against Tipperary and Dublin next month.

Both players were cleared by last night's Central Appeals Commitee, which ruled that outstanding suspensions had been served during last month's dead-rubber Allianz League playoff between the counties. It had been originally ruled that that they could not serve their suspension in such a game.

Harnedy was red-carded in Cork's last regulation Allianz Hurling League tie against Tipperary at Pairc Ui Rinn, while Delaney was dismissed at the end of Kilkenny's final Division 1A game against Wexford on March 10. Delaney could still miss the visit of Dublin to Nowlan Park after being injured while playing for his club Erin's Own, Castlecomer last weekend.
