Tipperary's Brendan Maher leaves the field injured against Clare

Tipperary manager Liam Sheedy has given an injury update on his players ahead of Sunday’s Munster SHL final.

The Premier County take on Clare in the decider at the Gaelic Grounds, Limerick as both sides look to pick up some early season silverware.

However both camps will be looking at the start of the NHL in just a couple of weeks time and Sheedy revealed to the Midland Tribune that they have a number of injury concerns.

The likes of Brendan Maher, John O’Dwyer, John McGrath and Jerome Cahill are all on the injured list at the moment.

Sheedy stated that Maher is heading in the right direction regards returning to fitness, but still has a bit to go before he will be fully fit.

“He is not going to rush it but he is hitting all the tight timelines we are looking for,” said Sheedy. “He may be back mid to end of the league.

“Jerome Cahill picked up a knock and John McGrath is still not coming back to fitness. John O’Dwyer is on the way back.”
