Having coached Salthill-Knocknacarra and Mountbellew-Moylough against Corofin in the 2013 and '15 Galway SFC finals, Ballintubber Kevin Johnson knows more about Corofin than most.

And he's under no illusions about the task facing the Mayo champions against the All-Ireland kingpins in next Sunday's Connacht club SFC final at Elvery's MacHale Park.

"I would know a lot about this Corofin team," the Sligo native explained to the Western People.

"They're the standard-bearers of Galway and Connacht GAA. They're in their fifth Connacht final, they're going for four out of five, and they've six Galway's in-a-row. It's an incredible achievement for any club.

"We know it's a massive challenge ahead. We're just really looking forward to that challenge and trying to focus as much as possible on our game and how we can improve from the days out against Castlebar, Breaffy, Tourlestrane and Aughawillan. We're trying to look for a little bit extra every time and trying to learn from all those experiences."
