Eire Og captain Sean Gannon believes that they have a great opportunity of going well in the Leinster club SFC.

Having won back to back Carlow senior football championships, Eire Og now turn their attention to the provincial campaign which begins later this month.

It is ten years since a Carlow team won a game in the Leinster club SFC and Gannon stressed to the Carlow Nationalist that they will be going all out to make amends.

“It is a fantastic opportunity,” Gannon stated. “The Louth champions away and the winners of Wicklow, Offaly and Longford in the semi-final.

“You will never get another chance to get to a Leinster final. No one has won a championship game since 2008 in Carlow at senior level. That is ten years. We are going to go full blooded.”
