Kerry 2-16

Roscommon 2-7

First half goals from Ruaidhri O Beaglaioch and Killian Falvey helped five-in-a-row chasing Kerry to a comfortable All-Ireland MFC quarter-final victory over Roscommon at the Gaelic Grounds.

The Munster champions had the win all but wrapped up by half-time when they held a commanding 2-10 to 0-4 lead. They can now look forward to an All-Ireland semi-final against Ulster champions Monaghan on August 11/12.

The Kingdom hit the ground running with early points from O Beaglaioch, Paul Walsh and Patrick D'Arcy before O Beaglaioch's opening goal gave them a 1-4 to 0-1 lead. James Fitzpatrick and Adam McDermott replied for the Connacht runners-up, but Kerry continued to dominate as Falvey raised another green flag in the 28th minute before Paul O'Shea and Darragh Rahilly tagged on points before the break.

Goals from Roscommon's Charlie Carthy and Fergus Lennon in the 35th and 42nd minutes respectively cut the gap to seven points, 2-6 to 2-13, but Kerry were always comfortable and closed out the game with further points from D'Arcy, Walsh and Michael Lenihan.
