The Liam Miller tribute match WILL now take place at Pairc Ui Chaoimh, according to reports this evening.
The Cork stadium had originally been refused to the event's organisers but it appears as though the GAA have now reversed their decision, with the Cork Evening Echo reporting the venue change from Turner's Cross.
Earlier today, the GAA tweeted that it was seeking to meet with organisers of the match in aid of the late Republic of Ireland and Manchester United midfielder's family, having come under huge public pressure to allow the game to be played at the 45,000-capacity stadium.
It seems common sense has at last prevailed on the debacle...
TweetThe Liam Miller fundraiser will now take place in Pairc Ui Chaoimh. Well done to all for making it happen.
