It was a massive night in Round Two of the national football and hurling leagues, with five huge encounters down for decision.
There was sure to be no shortage of quality on display at 7pm as the holders of both titles were in action, not to mention the reigning All-Ireland football and hurling champions.
The big four were all on show in Division One of the NFL: All-Ireland champions Dublin met Tyrone in Omagh, while Mayo entertained league holders Kerry in Castlebar. Both these games were repeats of All-Ireland semi-finals from last summer - would the results be the same? Tonight's other football league fixture pitted Cavan against Louth at Breffni Park (Division Two).
Galway of course roared to an impressive hurling league and championship double in 2017 - tonight they were in Portlaoise to face Laois in Division 1B. In 1A, the all-Munster clash of Tipperary and Waterford at Semple Stadium completed a truly fascinating quintet of fixtures.
