Former Armagh star Kieran McGeeney is set to be named as Kildare's new senior football manager after meeting with county chairman Syl Merrins. McGeeney has been offered the chance to succeed John Crofton in the hot seat and is understood to have reacted positively. However it remains to be seen whether former Cavan trainer and Armagh selector Paul Grimley will join McGeeney in the Kildare think-tank. Tweet
