Armagh boss Kieran McGeeney is refusing to underestimate Wicklow ahead of their visit to the Athletic Grounds on Saturday.

The Orchard County are 1/50 to progress to the second round of the All-Ireland qualifiers, but 'Geezer' is taking nothing for granted against opponents who came close to shocking Meath in the Leinster championship.

"Wicklow are probably not that big of underdogs. They scored 3-12 and they missed a couple of good goal chances (against Meath) too. I played a lot of football against Wicklow in my time and they will hold no fear of Armagh," he told the Newry Democrat.

"They have a big full forward line so I am sure they will be looking to pump highball in and get as many shots as they did against Meath. So we know what is going to come. We know we will have our fill of it."

McGeeney insists Armagh aren't downhearted after their heavy Ulster SFC quarter-final defeat to Donegal.

"We were saying it all year - it was a big step up to play one of the best teams in the country and it proved it," he continued.

"It wasn't all doom and gloom - we had probably as many scoring chances - we had more goal chances and we could have made a game of it but we didn't, so there is not much point crying about it."
