Geezer not taking Model for granted

Armagh's profligacy in front of the posts is an area that Kieran McGeeney wants to address.

The Orchard County's reliance on Jamie Clarke, who notched 1-5 in last Sunday's narrow win over Tipperary, is a concern for Geezer who is challenging others to shoulder more of the scoring responsibility.

"I didn't think we were great against Tipperary but I suppose you could say we did it when it counted," McGeeney told The Belfast Telegraph.

"We haven't been scoring enough in any of our games so far and we need to click some of the easy scores we are missing. That's what we have to improve.

"I've told the players that on occasions they have dominated game for maybe 60 or 65 minutes and still lost but we didn't lose against Tipperary.

"However, we know what we have to do against Wexford.

The Model County suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of Clare on the opening weekend but McGeeney insists his team have to be in the right frame of mind when they travel down to the south east.

"Armagh have always struggled against Wexford and it could be the same again. They will be keen to get back on the rails and for our part we will be anxious to show an improvement on the form we displayed against Tipperary.

"We need to prove that we can take scores."
