Brian Cuthbert has welcomed Eoin Cadogan's decision to commit solely to the Cork footballers in 2015.

Yesterday it was revealed that Cadogan has chosen the Rebel footballers over the hurlers and, speaking to The Examiner, Cuthbert said: "I am delighted to have Eoin on board for 2015.

"Preparations are under way for the year ahead, and we look forward to returning to competitive action."

Hurling manager Jimmy Barry-Murphy, meanwhile, stated the door is open for a possible future return to the hurling panel.

"We are disappointed to lose Eoin but we wish him well with the footballers in 2015.

"The door is always open for his return to Cork hurling, should circumstances allow."

Meanwhile, it has also been revealed that the 28-year-old will act as assistant manager to John Lennon with the Armagh hurlers in the new year.

He is spending a lot of time in the Orchard County as his girlfriend Julie Davis is strength and conditioning coach with the Armagh footballers.
