Ard Mhaca Under 12 Division 3 Football League
Thomas Davis v Newtown Emmett's
4 - 8 v. 9 - 4
Thomas Davis finally met Newtown Emmett's in this rearranged fixture and for 25 mins the young players of Thomas Davis more than matched their opponents. The first half for instance saw Thomas Davis go ahead twice but Newtown came back at them time and again.
The young Thomas Davis team have found the going tough this season but they never looked like they were struggling in this first half, even though they went two points down, they showed skill in abundance as they attempted time after time to open up the Newtown defence. The only negative was that they kicked countless wides, until their determination paid off and two fine goals from Junior Marron put the home side ahead. Captain Ronan Casey had an outstanding first half and led by example, scoring three well taken points. It was forward Christopher O'Hare who stood out up front in the first half, scoring two points and narrowly missing a goal chance, but the home side were missing quite a few players this day, especially at the back and that came back to haunt them, as Newtown scored too many goals and by half time the score was, 5-3 to 4-4 in Newtown's favour.

The second half was much the same story, especially at the back, as the away side unfortunately scored another 4 goals, as they had quite a few goal chances. The only Thomas Davis players to make scores for the home side were captain Ronan Casey and again Junior Marron, who scored 2 points apiece. This game however gave a lot of the panel a full game and they will hope that the return of the rest of their panel will see them get a better result in Saturday's game.
Line up was as follows:
Bradley Murray, Jarlath Jennings, Ronan Casey, Niall Taggart, Ethan Casey, Junior Marron, Caolan Mallon, Jordan Lennon, Sean Dowdall and Christopher O'Hare.
