Armagh's squad is a man down after midfielder Johnny Hanratty's decision to quit the panel for the season.

Gaelic Life reports that Hanratty- who has made just one start for the Orchard County in their Division 2 league campaign - didn't travel to Galway last weekend after informing Paul Grimley of his intention to opt out of the squad following the defeat to Monaghan.

Having been selected as Crossmaglen captain for the coming year, it is understood he intends to concentrate on his club duties instead. Tweet
