Armagh star Jamie Clarke looks set to make his return for the Orchard County on Sunday as they take on Antrim in Glenavy.

Clarke missed out on Armagh’s entire 2018 campaign after having moved Stateside and played with New York in the Connacht senior football championship in May, when the Exiles went down in an agonising extra time defeat to Leitrim in the Bronx.

The Crossmaglen ace has since returned home however and could be given some game time by Kieran McGeeney this weekend against the Saffrons.

“This year you have the experienced guys coming back in – ‘Soupy’ (Stefan) Campbell, who is training really hard, Jamie Clarke is coming back with renowned talent,” Armagh assistant manager Jim McCorry told The Irish News.

“Jamie kept himself in good shape last year while ‘Soupy’ was playing other sports so both came back in good shape and did a good pre-season programme with Julie David and Denis (Holywood).”
