"People say this team isn't good enough and we don't have the players"

Jemar Hall says the abuse Armagh got after losing to Fermanagh has spurred them into action in the Qualifiers.

Since limply exiting the Anglo-Celt Cup race, the Orchard County have moved within one win of the Super 8s by beating Westmeath, Sligo and Clare.

Armagh showed their heart in Saturday's stirring success against the Banner County, when they prevailed by four points despite trailing by four with a minute left. Victory over Roscommon this weekend would see Kieran McGeeney's charges into the last eight for the second season running:

"It's still fuelling us up in every game, all the abuse we got after Fermanagh," Forkhill clubman Hall notes in The Irish News. "People said we didn't want to play for the team, we didn't want to play for the jersey, and that's fuelling us every game. Kieran reminded us before we went out to have that wee bit of extra hunger and show that we actually are good enough to play for Armagh.

"People say this team isn't good enough and we don't have the players, but we showed that bit of fight and we were able to stand up to it when it was put to us.

"In training we're always working on being ready to fight and dig deep, we didn't want to stop there and we showed a bit of grit and determination to pull it back.

"We're taking simple steps, doing simple things and that's going to push us on to the next game and we want to try and win that and push onto the Super 8s hopefully."
