Today's Leinster SHC round-robin clash between Westmeath and Antrim in Mullingar will have a strong Waterford flavour to it.
Westmeath manager Michael Ryan and his Antrim namesake Kevin know each other very well from their time together as Waterford selectors. That was in 2007 when Justin McCarthy was the manager. Kevin Ryan left the following year to manage Carlow, while Michael went on to manage the Deise in 2012 and '13.
"We were selectors together at Waterford for a short spell before I left the set-up. I have an idea of Michael's style," Kevin said.
