Kevin Ryan wants Antrim to show the same belief as they did against Laois when they face Westmeath on Sunday.

The under-fire Saffrons scored a last-gasp goal to beat the O'Moore County and set up a top-of-the-table clash with Westmeath in the Leinster SHC round-robin series.

"The hanging-in there element was the most pleasing thing last Sunday, especially for a team that hasn't had a win since DIT in the Walsh Cup," the Antrim manager said in the Irish News.

"For a team that has been down, knocked down and endured so much criticism, to actually have the belief in themselves to keep going against Laois…

"Anyone could have given up when Laois got their last goal. Even the belief to take the next point. The mental attitude of the players was the most pleasing thing for me, and they kept at it with a certain amount of confidence too."

The Waterford man added: "The job is far from done and the way we see it we're not out of the woods yet. Westmeath is huge next Sunday, it's probably even bigger than it would have been because we're set the bar last Sunday and we've got to go beyond it now."
