Nigel Dunne of Offaly

Offaly boosted their survival hopes in Division 3 of the Allianz Football League by earning a late 0-13 to 1-10 draw against Sligo at Markievicz Park.

In the end, it was substitute Nigel Dunne’s 69th minute point that ended up giving the visitors a share of the spoils after having trailed by two with as many minutes left in regulation.

The result keeps the Faithful men in the frame for promotion ahead of next weekend’s final round of games while also ensuring that Sligo cannot now be promoted.

Clare remain in the hunt for a return to Division 2 thanks to a 0-15 to 0-12 win over Antrim in Ennis while, at the other end of the table, Wicklow secured their first win of the competition over a Limerick side which are now relegated to Division 4.

Oisin McGaynor’s point proved the different in the end for the Garden men as they recorded a 0-9 to 0-8 victory over their Treaty counterparts.

Meanwhile, tomorrow’s top of the table clash between unbeaten sides Westmeath and Down throws in at 3pm at TEG Cusack Park, Mullingar.
