Kildare’s name will be in the bowl for Monday morning’s All-Ireland SF round 3 draw after they comfortably cleared the challenge of Antrim at Corrigan Park in today’s round 2 encounter.

The defeated Leinster semi-finalists proved too strong for the Saffrons on a scoreline of 1-25 to 0-14.

Cian O’Neill’s didn’t waste any time imposing their superiority on the hosts with Adam Tyrrell (2) and Neil Flynn finding the target early on.

The first-half finished with the visitors 0-13 to 0-6 to the good and the second-half followed a similar pattern.

Fergal Conway scored the game’s only goal five minutes into the second-half and the writing was on the wall at that stage for Lenny Harbinson’s men as they trailed by double digits (0-8 to 1-15).

The impressive Tyrrell had seven points to his name before making way for Jason Gibbons and it didn’t take long for the substitute to get in on the scoring act.

Further scores from Jimmy Hyland (who replaced the black carded Chris Healy in the first-half), Kevin Feely and Tommy Moolick rounded off a satisfactory afternoon’s work for the winners.

Paddy McBride caught the eye at the opposite end of the field when scoring six points for the hosts.
