Barry McGoldrick insists that Coleraine won't be resting on their laurels after last Sunday's historic Derry SFC final success.

Eoghan Rua completed their meteoric rise through the Derry ranks with a sensational victory over traditional giants Ballinderry, and will now go on to represent the county in the Ulster club championship where they will face the Down champions on October 31.

"We'll enjoy the next few days, but we'll set ourselves another target fairly quickly," said centre back McGoldrick, who was joined on the Coleraine team by brothers Ciaran, Colm and county star Sean Leo.

"Our boys are very ambitious and you don't get into Ulster very often. It's something we'll be looking to take full advantage of.

"Ballinderry are a fantastic team, but this win has been a long time in the making. The club was '97 junior champions and we had a good crop of players coming through and it finally came together at senior level.

"The victory means everything to me. My club is very, very important to me, I suppose like any clubman in Derry. Sometimes that spills into the county where you're accused of it meaning more to us.

"Representing Derry is very important to us, and you club too, but there's no reason why they can't go side by side."
