Curran rejoins Tipp football squad

December 20, 2007
Tipperary's 2008 football hopes have been boosted by the news that Niall Curran has rejoined the county squad. Curran, a brother of county hurler Paul, quit the squad last March but has made himself available to new manager John Evans. The Mullinahone clubman made his Munster football championship debut against Limerick in 2004 and had a brief involvement with the county senior hurling squad in 2006 before returning briefly to the footballers at the start of this year. Curran is one of 55 players Evans has been running the rule over since he was appointed as John Owens' successor last month. The Kerryman has secured the services of Cashel-based chartered physiotherapist Sean Deegan, who has worked with West Ham United in the past. Alan Ward from UL is the squad's PE instructor with Jimmy Cunningham on board as masseur.
