Friendship cast aside in Connacht match

November 10, 2007
Tourlestrane ace Eamonn O'Hara revealed his friendship with Ballina's Pat Harte will count for nothing once the game starts in the provincial semi-final tomorrow. The Sligo county player is good friends with Pat Harte and strangely enough this will be the first time the pair will meet on the playing field. "I've been around for a bit longer than Pat, but in time he's been involved we haven't met each other at either club or county level. "Pat was born in Ballina and grew up there, and so his sympathies would very much be with Ballina. But he has very close ties with Tourlestrane. "His father Gerry is from Tourlestrane and while Gerry moved some time ago to live in Ballina, he regurlarly came back to Tourelestrane for visits over the years, and Pat would have been with him. "That's how i got to know Pat, and over the years we have become friends. But i can tell you that friendship will go out the window once the ball is thrown in on Sunday," admitted O'Hara.
