Curran quits Tipp football squad
March 14, 2007
Tipperary football manager John Owens has confirmed that Niall Curran has left the squad.
Curran, whose brother Paul is a key member of the Tipp hurling side, did not travel to Navan last Saturday for the NFL game against Meath which the visitors lost by three points.
"Niall Curran has left the panel. He will be a loss but he made a choice to leave and we have to accept that. More importantly, the players accepted it. He didn't want to continue," Owens said.
Owens, who is currently working with a panel of 26, added: "We're happy with what we have. They're a committed bunch but we will be looking at fellas down the line."
The Mullinahone clubman had been part of the Tipp football squad since 2004 when he made his championship debut against Limerick.
