Kennedy boosted by Vogue support
August 02, 2006
St. Brigid's and Dublin handballer Eoin Kennedy has received a major boost with the announcement that Vogue Bathrooms, the market leader in designer bathroom products, is to sponsor him for the remainder of the 2006 championship season in addition to the upcoming 2007 season.
The sponsorship deal was announced in St. Brigid's GAA Club, Blanchardstown on Thursday July 27th by Conor Whelan, Managing Director of Vogue Bathrooms. The announcement couldn't have come at a better time for Dublin's star handballer who is currently very busy on both the national and international stages.
Kennedy will fly out to Canada to play in the World Handball Championships in Edmonton from August 7th - 13th where he will compete in both singles and doubles. Upon his return, Kennedy will focus on trying to retain his singles and doubles All-Ireland Senior 60x30 titles. On Sept 2nd Kennedy faces Tom Sheridan (Meath) in the All-Ireland singles final at Croke Park and a fortnight later, along with partner Egin Jenson, he will defend his doubles title against a Wexford pair (Barry Goff and Gavin Buggy) at the same venue.
Kennedy is clearly very pleased with the sponsorship - "I'm delighted that Vogue bathrooms have come onboard and I'd like to thank them sincerely for their support. Their help will definitely make it easier for me to continue to train and compete at the highest level in the future."
Conor Whelan, Managing Director of Vogue Bathrooms said: "Vogue Bathrooms are delighted to be associated with Eoin Kennedy who has already proven himself to be a world-class athlete. As the market leader in designer bathroom products, it is a natural fit for us to support someone who is also clearly at the top of his game."
Tony Hegarty of St. Brigid's GAA Club who helped to arrange the sponsorship commented: "The sponsorship is a great boost for Eoin as well as handball in the St. Brigid's club. Currently, St. Brigid's is thriving on all fronts including football, hurling, handball, camogie and ladie's football and it is great that prestigious companies like Vogue Bathrooms are getting involved."
