Louisburgh overcame the loss of former Mayo and Wicklow star Austin O'Malley to a first half black card to edge out Creggs in an exciting Connacht club JFC final at Kiltoom.

The Mayo champions made all of the early running to open up a 1-3 to 0-0 lead with Michael Gibbons palming to the net. But with Shane Dowd to the fore, Creggs - who won their first Roscommon JFC title in 33 years last month - got the last five scores of the half to trail by the minimum, 0-5 to 1-3, at the interval.

Crucially, Louisburgh never lost the lead and when sub James Dowd raised their second green flag five minutes after the restart, the black and ambers were well on their way to provincial glory.
