Gary 'Spike' O'Sullivan swapped his boxing gloves for his football boots yesterday when he togged out for his local club Ballinure in the opening round of the Cork junior 'C' championship.

The former Irish boxing champion lined out at full forward as Ballinure succumbed to Glenlara on a 4-2 to 0-18 scoreline. While 'Spike' didn't get on the scoresheet himself, he had a hand in two of his side's goals.

O'Sullivan is due to the return to the ring later this year as a light middleweight after his bruising defeat to Chris Eubank Jnr in the final eliminator for the WBA middleweight title just before Christmas.
