Duggan Park to be lit up
March 08, 2014

Meath take on Galway in Pearse Stadium.
Planning permission has finally been granted for the installation of floodlights at Duggan Park in Ballinasloe.
Ballinasloe Town Council has given the green light to the project and has also agreed to contribute €100,000 towards the project provided the figure is matched by the Galway county board. An application has also been lodged for the erection of floodlights in Pearse Stadium to Galway City Council.
At last December's annual convention, a St. Thomas' motion to invest in floodlighting was passed. The reigning All-Ireland club hurling champions believe such an investment would help to clear up any fixture backlogs, which have been common in the county in recent years.
