Holders St. Thomas', Portumna and Loughrea have joined surprise-packets Beagh in the last four of the Galway SHC.
St. Thomas' remain on course to retain their county and All-Ireland club titles after surviving a stern test from Castlegar. The sides were level eight times in the first half before a Ger Farragher-inspired Castlegar took a slender 0-9 to 0-8 lead into the break.
It was level pegging again with 11 minutes remaining, but late goals from Conor Cooney (penalty) and Shane Cooney sealed a 2-19 to 0-21 win for the champions.
Damien Hayes was the hero for Portumna after his late point gave the former All-Ireland kingpins a 1-15 to 1-14 victory over Ardrahan. Portumna had led by 0-7 to 0-5 at the break and looked set to prevail until Cormac Divney equalised in injury-time. But there was still time for Hayes to win it for the favourites.
Last year's beaten finalists Loughrea also had just a point to spare over Padraig Pearses, 0-15 to 0-14. Pearses looked set to pull off a surprise win when Tomas Flannery's fifth free edged them in front, but Neil Keary broke their hearts with two frees in the closing stages.
Beagh had already secured their place in the semi-finals courtesy of their win over Turloughmore last Saturday week.
