Cork referee Michael Collins
High profile referee Michael Collins of Cork has been dropped off the GAA's Championship panel.

The Irish Examiner reports that Collins - who took charge of the 2001 All-Ireland final between Galway and Meath - has been omitted from the elite 16 match officials who will take charge of this year's football championship action.

Wexford's Syl Doyle is also missing from last year's list but he stepped down from the panel back in January.

Meaths' David Gough - who officiated at last Saturday's All-Ireland U21 FC final - and Longford's Fergal Kelly are new additions to the panel.

2013 Championship Referees' panel: Barry Cassidy (Derry); David Coldrick (Meath); Maurice Deegan (Laois); Marty Duffy (Sligo); Michael Duffy (Sligo); Derek Fahy (Longford); David Gough (Meath); Rory Hickey (Clare); Martin Higgins (Fermanagh); Fergal Kelly (Longford); Eddie Kinsella (Laois); Conor Lane (Cork); Joe McQuillan (Cavan); Padraig O'Sullivan (Kerry); Cormac Reilly (Meath). Ciaran Brannigan (Down) replaces Padraig Hughes (Armagh) until Hughes returns from injury.
