Shay Boland was ratified as the new Dublin Under 21 hurling manager last night.

The Herald reports that Boland - who guided Dublin to successive All-Ireland MHC finals - was given the green light to replace John Henderson.

After the defeat to Tipperary in this year's minor hurling final replay, Boland indicated that he would be taking a breaking from management but has obviously had a change of heart.

Former Kilkenny star Henderson was in charge this year when the Dublin Under 21s fell to a disappointing defeat to Laois in the opening round.

Dublin are due to face Carlow in the opening round of the Leinster Under 21 HC next year. Tweet
