Lally seeking move away from Brigid's

Dublin's Declan Lally
Dublin GAA chiefs are bracing themselves for another club wrangle after county footballer Declan Lally applied for a transfer from St. Brigid's to neighbouring St. Oliver Plunkett's/Eoghan Ruadh.
The 2011 All-Ireland winner has formally requested the move and St. Brigid's have until January 17 to lodge an objection. Despite featuring in Dublin's Leinster championship wins over Laois and Kildare last year, Lally failed to command a regular starting place for his club side who, ironically, defeated a star-studded St. Oliver Plunkett's in the Dublin county final before going on to lose the Leinster club final to Garrycastle in gut-wrenching circumstances.
Indeed, Lally finished the season playing with the Blanchardstown club's second team who were relegated from Division 3 of the league by Tallaght side St. Mark's. If Brigid's object to the transfer, Lally could find himself in a similar situation to Eamon Fennell who faced the prospect of not being allowed to play for Dublin before his move from O'Toole's to St. Vincent's eventually went through.
