Cribbin wanted to continue

Tom Cribbin has admitted that he wanted to stay on as Offaly football manager.
The Clane man resigned last week after three years at the helm, with the county board having set up a special committee to find a new manager before he announced his decision.
"I think the Offaly team for the next couple of years in going to be very, very young," Cribbin said on Midlands 103.
"They don't need the pressure of a manager achieving or not achieving being brought on them so I felt that it's probably better if someone is put in place for a three- to five-year term and people in Offaly take a realistic view of what can be achieved.
"This year I thought the lads performed very well in certain matches. It's just consistency was our thing."
Cribbin fears the Faithful County will lose some of its brightest prospects due to a lack of employment.
"There's an awful lot of them finishing college and there's not too many work prospects and I'm not sure if all of those guys are going to be able to stay around," he added.
