Harnan and Callaghan's Meath exit confirmed

Former Meath selectors Liam Harnan and Barry Callaghan
It has been confirmed that Seamus McEnaney's two Meath selectors have left his Royal County backroom team.
Meath County Board said today that both had left for 'personal reasons.'
The news comes following Graham Geraghty's return to the squad on Friday last.
Selectors Barry Callaghan and Liam Harnan were apparently not fully consulted over the return of the former All-Ireland winning captain. Callaghan was abroad last week and did not know about Geraghty's return while Harnan would not comment on the Geraghty issue on Friday.
Speculation has been rife over the weekend within the county about disagreements within the management team. Meath defeated Westmeath in a challenge game on Friday night and saw off Galway on Saturday, after which both selectors tendered their resignations.
The development could be potentially fatal for McEnaney's long-term future in the role as he was only endorsed after club delegates were told that that Harnan would be his assistant and another Meath man would be a selector. Indeed, county chairman Barney Allen explained at the time that it was the board's intention for Harnan to work with McEnaney for a couple of years before then succeeding the Monaghan man in the role. All those plans now lie in tatters and Meath football is lurching into further turmoil.
Initially it was indicated that there were no plans to replace to two departed All-Ireland winners which would have meant that the Royal County would have faced Kildare in three weeks time with no Meath man among the selection committee.
However, it has since come to light that Curraha's Pat Coyle has been asked to join the management team. Coyle led Meath to Leinster minor honours three years ago and was the county's junior manager this season.
