Richmond monitor trusty Steede - report

Corofin's Ronan Steede
Australia Rules side Richmond Tigers are keeping tabs on the progress of Ronan Steede with a view to offering the Galway native a pro contract.
Steede had a trial with Tigers earlier in the year and the Evening Herald reports that the AFL club are still weighing up a contract offer.
The Corofin and former Galway minor star, who won a Connacht senior club medal two years ago, is now playing with semi-pro club Grovedale on a contract until September.
But he could yet link up with a Tigers squad who already have two young Irishmen in the shape of Westmeath ace John Heslin and Jamie O'Reilly of Down.
The Herald quotes Richmond's recruiting officer Matthew Clarke as saying, "There's definitely still a chance (we'll sign Steede). He trialled here and was bright and bubbly and showed good application at training. He didn't take to kicking as well as John (Heslin) did during his week here but we know that players develop at different rates."
