Derry keeper Barry Gillis
Experienced Derry goalkeeper Barry Gillis has withdrawn from John Brennan's panel for the rest of the 2011 league and championship campaign.

Gillis has made just one appearance this year, as a substitute in a Dr McKenna Cup game against Queen's University.

The O'Donovan Rossa clubman is the holder of two National Football League medals from 2000 and 2008 but appears to have lost his place as first-choice under new Derry boss Brennan to Danny Devlin of Ballinascreen.

According to the BBC, 31-year-old has not announced his retirement from inter-county football but is unable to commit to the Oak Leaf County for the remainder of this year.
