Offaly make two changes

February 17, 2011

Offaly's James Rigney
Offaly hurling manager Joe Dooley has made two changes to the side which went down to Cork last weekend, with James Rigney ruled out for at least two months.

Rigney sustained a broken arm in the five-point defeat at Pairc Ui Chaoimh and faces between eight and ten weeks on the sidelines.

He joins long-term absentees Joe Brady, Paul Cleary, Derek Molloy and Daniel Currams, while David Franks and Brendan Murphy have yet to rejoin Dooley's panel.

Kinnitty clubman Rigney is replaced in the full back line by Peter Healion of Kilcormac-Killoughey.

The other change to the team for the visit of Galway to Tullamore sees Dylan Hayden preferred to Shane Kelly at midfield.

Sunday's game, against a Galway side which had 21 points to spare against Wexford last weekend, gets under way at 1pm as part of a double-header with the Offaly footballers' Division 3 clash with Wexford (2.45pm).

Offaly (SH v Galway, Tullamore, Sunday, 2.30pm): James Dempsey; Stephen Egan, Peter Healion, Brian Mulrooney; Rory Hanniffy, David Kenny, Derek Morkam; Conor Mahon, Dylan Hayden; Brian Carroll, Joe Bergin, Stehen Wynne; Cathal Parlon, Colin Egan, Shane Dooley.

Subs: Eoin Kelly, Michael Verney, Kevin Brady, Shane Kelly, Michael Cordial, Kevin Connolly, James Mulrooney, Paul Bermingham, Odhran Kealey.
