Galway boosted by Lee return

Galway's John Lee
Galway's 2009 hurling championship prospects have been given a major boost with the return of star centre back John Lee to the squad. The former All-Ireland minor winning captain opted out of the squad at the start of the year to concentrate on his medical studies, but a compromise has now been reached with the Galway management which allows him to train with the team as often as possible between now and the end of his studies in April. The 22-year-old is unlikely to feature in any of Galway's remaining NHL games, but his availability is a huge boost to the Tribesmen, whose recent form has been patchy to say the least. Confirming Lee's return, Galway manager John McIntyre said: "After speaking with John, it was agreed that he would rejoin the squad and do whatever training he can until his exams finish in late April. "We did not want him returning later on in the year out tune with our preparations, both physically and mentally."
