Parkinson transfers to Parnell's
February 25, 2009
Former Laois footballer Colm Parkinson has completed his transfer from Portlaoise to Dublin club Parnell's.
The O'Moore County veteran, who has declared himself unavailable to county manager Sean Dempsey for 2009 (originally due to travel plans), was an integral part of Portlaoise' back-to-back SFC wins in 2007 and '08.
It remains to be seen whether the Dublin-based star will reconsider his intercounty future.
Laois full back Darren Rooney is considering joining his county colleague at Parnell's (from Clonaslee-St Manman's), while Donie Kingston is close to finalising a transfer from Barrowhouse to Arles-Kileen.
In other Laois news, defender Mark Timmons is out for at least four weeks with a broken hand.
