Blackhall Gaels had five points to spare over Clann na nGael in the SHC at Lomans Park

Round 1 of the Meath Senior and Intermediate Hurling Championship concludes next Monday the day after the All Ireland SFC semi final when holders Ratoath take on league finalists Kiltale.

2-4 from Niall McNally paved the way for Kildalkey in their comfortable win over Longwood at Trim on Thursday. Kilmessan were too strong for Davis Cup winners Killyon also at Lomans Park. Last years IHC winners O'Mahony's put up a very brave show against Na Fianna in Athboy. Trim earned the bragging rights on Pitch 6 at Dunganny. Wins for last years finalists Drumree, Donaghmore Ashbourne and Kilskyre/Moylagh Dunboyne, Rathmolyon and Gaeil Colmcille in the opening round of the Intermediate.
