Kildare30 saw kildare fans chating to him outside the dressing rooms after the westmeath league match in Conleths.. They made time for him so yes there are some anti and who are against it but there also those who are not. You cant speak for majority Kildare supporters.

My apologies..but obviously there will be those who oppose it but also "many" who will be backing the kildare team even if he is a member of the panel.

lilywhitemagic...100% respect your position on SJ issue. I support Kildare regardless of whether Seanie ends up playing for us or never does. I'm not comfortable with it. I wish he had chosen to try and resolve his issues with Cavan and continued playing for his local club. If he had fought half as hard to get back into the Cavan setup than he has to get into the Kildare one than im sure he would be back playing at the moment as a Cavan player. He hasn't done that. So you have to question his motives. Somehow he sees Kildare as a better fit for him, perhaps a better chance of winning trophies, i d'ont know. We will just have to agree to disagree on it lilywhitemagic and see what happens.

Yea kildare30 we wil ;) but it's far from a done deal yet and as I have said all along either way I dont mind whether he gets it or not but as kildare fans we all have are own opinions on the matter I do believe however whether Johnstons there or not kildare will do well in this years championship.

I think having Johnson will get ye over the line where ye have failed in the
last few years Some of the Kildare posters are very cocky i know ye would
like to do it with all homegrown players ye need JOHNSON

Seanie wont make much of a difference to Kildare as they need another two or three quality forwards who can score goals and not take the easy point option every time. Kildare wont come within an asses roar of winning any silverware this year. They are a good bunch of athletes but lack the real footballing skills evident in top tier counties like Kerry, Tyrone, Cork and Mayo. Kieran McGeeney ahould start bringing a few footballs to training and work on scoring goals and taking points from distance.

Kingdomfan, Mayo lost thier league final didn't they? To a Cork team that I think will kick seven colours of crap out of Kerry. We beat Tyrone. Tomas O'Conner is much more dangerous in the Square than either Donnehy, who isn't the force he used to be, or even the Gooch, both excellent players but players who have to have the ball delivered to them on a silver platter. Old style tactics, Sooblick; the game has moved on. Anyway, there's only yourtselves and Cork in Munster and then one or the other of you sail into a Provincial, Cork I reckon this year; when they make up thier mind about it they can beat anyone. By the way, I love Kerry anmd Kerry people. The two O'Flahertys have their roots in Dingle.

Just let me get my head around this, your saying that T O'Connor is better than Donaghy and the Gooch?

Tomas O' Connor is no footballer!! He is just a big strong man and when he comes up against a big strong defender he is lost. Put the Gooch or Donaghy against any defender and that defender is in trouble!!

Kingdomfan: "Kieran McGeeney ahould start bringing a few footballs to training and work on scoring goals and taking points from distance".

Obviously Kingdomfan you missed the fact that Kildare Scored 9 goals in seven league games while Kerry scored 5 in eight games.

Right, on this year's form Kildare have had no problems getting scores so far, I think that's what Dingus is trying to get across. But his comparisons were a bit overblown. Donaghy scored one the best scores you'll ever see in closing minutes of the All-Ireland last year. Unbelievable, he's not gone anywhere. And the Gooch is the Gooch, the best player of our generation. O'Connor has been very strong for Kildare , sacrifices a lot of his game for those around him, but let's not get carried away...

Everyone in Kildare doesn't think that T O'Connor is better than Gooch or Donaghy. I'd go as far to say that its an outrageous statement. However to be fair I think the poster was trying to suggest that he's be more effective with the new square ball rule. I think an argument might be made for that ok. I'm sure the usual few will attempt to turn and twist the words to suit what they're trying to say.

What exactly is being twisted here?

I asked a straight question, is that what he is saying, that O'Connor is better than Donaghy or the Gooch.
They were his own words, thats why I asked again to be sure thats what he meant.

So what exactly is anyone twisting there? Your always jumping to the conclusion that as soon as anyone from Meath or Dublin speaks to or about a Kildare poster that theres some alterior motive, or snide under tone.

It was a simple question, nothing more, nothing less. Nothing got to do with anybody trying to twist anything.

Ah get over yourself. I wasn't even referring to you in my post. Not everything I write in a thread is in direct reply to something you've said. Paramoid or what.

All I asked you is what is being twisted? Could you not answer that?

How do you expect people to have a decent discussion on football on this site if you always assume the people are being disingeneous with their comments?

So once again, who is twisting what was said?

All you need to know is that I wasnt replying directly to your post. Not getting into a tit for that. And no Ill not be answering your question.

Now back on topic.
