Are players criticised?

The Leinster GAA website already has it down for Wexford Park at 1.30 p.m. on Sunday November 23.

I'm sure Naas will do their best to stop them. Will they have their injured players back in 2 weeks?

Best game of hurling I was at in the park in a long time today and you can't not be happy for the Martins. Thought OLeary at wing back and the two Codds were impressive, Darren in particular, one or two hairy moments towards the end alright but great to see them get over the line. Wexford hurling badly needed a win like that today.

Went to the game today as had a relative hurling for Na Fianna, not my home club but went along with a few relatives who were down.
It was a great game, somebody was going to be disappointed and fair play to St. Martins. I'll be rooting for them from here on now.
Credit to both sides, they both left it all on the pitch.
One thing I don't understand is why all Wexford teams play so deep. Its like a county obsession with compressing the space, but then their forwards are easily smothered.
I thought going down Na Fianna forwards might have too much and the "been here before" might get them over the line. But fair dues to St. Martins. Barry O'Connor would be a huge addition for your county team.

Darren Codd was the best player on the pitch in the second half, very good hurler.

Great stuff, I actually forgot the Martins played them in Newbridge last year.

Was up there, watched the game with a friend from Naas. He was very disappointed with their performance that day.

Superb Martins. This was truly a great watch.
Both teams played with huge intensity and bravery.
I really thought they were gone when Na Fianna took the lead late in the game. But no, they didn't wilt and fought like tigers in added time to win by the narrowest of margins.
The three O'connor's were on fire but it was most definately a team performance.
To beat the reigning all ireland champions was fantastic achievement and is to be savored.
Well done to both teams for providing us with a game for the ages. It had everything. Honest hard hurling. Great tackling and well taken scores.
In recent years Wexford teams be it county or club are not known to win tight close games but that tag was put to bed yesterday and let's hope they continue to do us proud in a success starved county.
Nothing won yet in terms of silverware and there are still mountains to climb. Naas next up and then it looks like we will have the mighty Ballyhale if we get over the Kildare hurdle.
This win will put us back on the hurling map. WE Haven't been on that map for a long time now.
Maybe this great win will inspire our county team to play with the same firepower that St Martins had in abundance in Wexford Park yesterday.

I said it a few weeks ago that whoever won Wexford would be in with a great chance of potentially reaching a Leinster Final with two home fixtures. Getting any Dublin club out of the capital is worth a lot. Watched the game on Clubber which probably didn't do it justice. The Martins looked like they were in trouble but stuck at it and ground it out.

Very difficult to turn around and go play football next weekend now.

Wexford Club hurling seems to play second fiddle in the national media - there is little or no coverage of it in the press or on tv compared to some other counties so I am delighted we've taken a big scalp.

Noted big win for Davidstown/C on Saturday too.

Brilliant game of hurling yesterday in the park really enjoyed it. In fairness to the Martins they looked in trouble at times but really dug in never gave up and fully deserved their win. Yet again Rory and Barry O Connor were outstanding . Every time I see Barry play I think its such a pity we probably wont see him play in purple and gold next year. I thought Darren Codd and Jake Firman was very good also. David Codd hurled a serious amount of ball and could be a ideal partner for Conor Hearne at midfield. Really the football doesnt take too much out of the Martins now its seriously heavy going on the bodies. They have a great chance at home to Naas but need to keep the feet on the ground Naas are a good team backboned by much of the Kildare team. I would love to see the Martins and Ballyhale in the final would be a big boost for Wexford hurling if the Martins could win a Leinster title but a lot of hurling to be played yet.
Good win for Davidstown too they play Barrow Rangers of Kilkenny away I think next in the semi final which will be a big test. Hard luck to Fethard they came up against a very good Danesfort team which will go close to winning the All Ireland.
All in all a good weekend for Wexford hurling lets hope Davidstown and the Martins can keep the momemtum going over the coming weeks.

Great win . Ref let a huge amount go which helped to make it such a contest no quarter given nor asked on another day another ref it would have been a free taking contest.
Whatever they do in the football next week is immaterial but I do believe one has complimented the other this year and shows with a little co operation and respect they can compete side by side instead of one pulling against the other .
Imo I think the extra 5%to10% they needed is brought to the table by Barry o connor who has played both codes and AFL .
And brought a professional / cohesive and consistent approach to their preparations and commands respect for everyone involved As well as his huge contribution on the field itself. Well done St Martins .
It's amazing the way one leader can just give that little extra that was missing .

I couldn't make it down but am delighted for the martins. Actually listened to the lasts 10 minutes outside croker. I'd love to see Barry o Conner stay around for one year to see how he would go. I'll get down in two weeks for the Naas and hopefully they drive on and get to a Leinster final. Well done also to Davidstown

The only way to get noticed and attract attention is by achieving success. The media at national level will inevitably give much more coverage to winning teams. They want banner headlines of outstanding performances by counties or clubs that have won all irelands and provided us with hugely talented players.
Let's be honest, wexford has been in the doldrums for years so why would the press or TV want to be interested?. We as a county haven't given them much to report on of late in terms of success.
The only way to change all that is to win something. Be it a Leinster title or if you're really optimistic an all ireland. Then I guarantee you the media will swarm all over us and there will be no end to the banner headlines all directed at our county.
Failure to achieve the above will only mean tiny paragraphs at the bottom of page 78.
That I'm afraid is the reality.
