Congratulations Ballygunner! They'll take some beating. Hard luck Ballyea.

Hard luck to Ballyea. They were well in it until the last quarter.

At +6 you mean!

Would be remortgage job.

Congrats Ballygunner. Whenever Limericks current great run ends I hope Waterford build on BGs success and be the men to replace us at the top.

Great Day for Monaleen on wining the Munster Intermediate Championship. Roscrea, have a proud tradition and they were a substantial scalp to capture. Hard luck to St Kierans, who to Ballygiblin in the Junior Final.

Replying To tiobraid:  "Good news.

Some very short odds for games at the weekend. Ballygunner at 1/6 is very short and handicap is only -6. I'm probably the only one that can see an upset here but I give Ballyea a chance and a good chance of getting below that handicap.

Slauhgtneil are 1/2 in Ulster but handicap is only -2. I think there could be a chance of an upset here too.

BS are 1/7 to win Leinster with handicap of -6 which I think they could cover with ease. KC coughed up numerous goal scoring chances time after time yesterday and I can see BS scoring 5/6 goals in this one."
Was wide of the mark in these predicitons - at least in terms of the final results. Although at half time in Leinster and Munster by bets were looking good but a match was never won at HT!
Having got through some tough looking games Ballygunner now might be ever so marginal favs but should be two good semis ahead.

Ballyhale are a fabulous team and club. One of the greats if not the greatest. I have many family connections and unfortunately also with way too many beaverments their community has suffered lately. However they seem obsessed with last February and some what in denial like Trump and the election. This is very evident and heard in Waterford. They lost last year's final period. They may well win in two weeks time but it won't reverse that. Hoping for a great game by two fine teams.

Could well be one of the great club games. Two ridiculous club teams. For Ballyhale to stay at the top for so long is unreal. Its hard to know if this is the best crop Ballyhale have had or not. TJ and Colin F are pushing on now but still serious assets. Ballygunner seem to go from strength to strength. Theyre very like Limerick in the fact they never panic and just wear teams down. I'll just about give the nod to Ballygunner but its going to be some game.

Ballyhale and James Stephens are the only clubs who have won it more than once with completely different teams over the years. That's frankly amazing. More than 1 golden generation or even a succession of them.

You never know on the day. Mahony scored the same number of frees as Tony Kelly and one less from play. If he can stay within one point of TJ then I would think the rest of the gunners will get it done. For sure Ballyhale will hit them hard and often and we will see how they stand up to that. Coughlan will do well to avoid the second yellow but will relish the battle with Fennelly as he prefers big guys like himself. Nippy forwards cause him more problems. He is also looking better every game. Lots of good match ups. I am sure the gunners will be hopping the ball in front of Mason to the corners not high balls that he will get to all day. Lots of good match ups. The half back line a little suspect for Ballygunner and the full back line for Ballyhale.
We may have the next Paul Flynn In Patrick Fitzgearld if he is taken care of.

Loughgiel Shamrocks (Antrim) have won it twice, in 1983 and 2012.

Congratulations to Shamrocks Ballyhale. They were the better team and deserved to win. Tough luck Ballygunner you missed too many frees but I don't think anyone can deny you have the best goalie in the country bar non. Ballygunner will rise again and hopefully they will not spend the next year crying in their cornflakes. Motivation yes but leave the bitterness to someone else.
Friends and relations in Ballyhale enjoy the moment and the honour of the best club team ever.
