Even PK Ballinabracky/Kinnegad combo also interesting,. In fairness both in close proximity but still 1 team be hard enough. I have always rated his teams he's trained. I don't know if there is an issue between hurling and football, just that one manager delivered, the other apparently didn't and as it seems to be the norm those days that if instant success is not achieved then it's the manager's fault. The hurling job is not comparable when you consider the conveyor belt of hurlers in the club. Split sessions, hurling weeks, football weeks, managing how much dual players are doing and working alongside eachother. Agree with the lads above. The idea that Trim, after 10 years in Intermediate with little underage success in recent years and who haven't won a SFC in decades, would fire their manager for simply not winning the SFC at the first attempt is just ridiculous. In the aftermath of several bad wides in Clonard v Na Fianna I listened to several Trim supporters heap the blame on Kevin and he didn't kick a ball that evening. I had a feeling that this was coming. Of course he delivered big time in 2021 by winning the IFC and returning Trim to the SFC and reached the All Ireland, bonus territory indeed but fans are fickle.
