Manager Merry Go Round

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

I see there's a lot of clubs looking for managers, half the clubs in North Meath are on the hunt for Managers, throw in O'Mahonys, Dunboyne, Kilmainham, Tones, Walterstown, and loads more. Have we gone down the soccer road of blaming the managers for the lack of success.

I'm not sure, managing is a massive massive commitment, and with the way things are at the moment its understandable that unless your a local manager that you may not stay longer than 1-2 years. There is of course also club expectations and if they're not met its fair that managers will be let go, i.e Dunboyne but in general, unless you are with a very successful team, or you are a local manager i.e Gillespe with summerhill, kealey with dunshaughlin I think you won't see many managers stay more than 2, possibly 3 years

I'd say it's more that managing a team is such a huge commitment these days time and effort wise that lads don't do for as long as they used to. It's nearly a full time job particularly at senior level.

Is the Tones manaegr defo gone? Will be a massive loss given their exploits last couple of years.
I've heard nothing on Walterstown, looking for a new manager. Like the tones is this confirmed? Or a guess?

He has just been confirmed as the new Celbridge manager. Bit odd to move so quick. How long can clubs sustain this constant chase for managers?

Thanks Lads, and the walterstown vacancy if their is indeed 1. Once start the chase for managers it's v hard to stop chasing them /Sucess. Less and less likely that homegrown mgmt come from within - Gillespie an obvs exception with summerhill..

I see some clubs advertising on social media with a form attached for people to fill out. Surely if clubs are on the look out they should be able to draw up a shortlist of targets themselves? Ratoath even seeking management for minor teams. Seems crazy to me

Robbie Brennan potentially to the Tones depending on how Kilmacud get on.

PK to the Bracks and will be a joint manager with Kinnegad.

Talk for Brian Farrell to Kells and Ashbourne looking at Ger Brennan (not sure how reliable that one is)

David Nolan is a candidate for Bective and Davy Nelson back to O Mahonys both have been big hits with regional teams

Some insane rumors doing the rounds

Some very interesting rumours there . Anything for Dunsany Blackhall Dunboyne the clubs in my area ? Surely Ger Robinson is nailed on for Dunboyne if he is in for it. Tara in the regional which I don't think anyone would have predicted.
